The Snowmass Town Council has taken a step towards enforcing fire restrictions in the area. An ordinance was unanimously approved in its first reading, authorizing the enforcement of Pitkin County's fire restrictions.
This move is in line with an earlier ordinance adopted by the Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners. The ordinance allows the Pitkin County Sheriff to enforce restrictions on open fires and fireworks when fire danger is high.
